BACKGROUND
Did you know that there is over 840,000km of pipeline infrastructure in Canada? Pipeline awareness is pivotal to safe development and municipal planning. 

Pipeline operators have regulatory obligations related to land use planning and development. A development up to 200m away from a pipe may impact the operation of that pipeline and could result in costly  and untimely upgrades for ALL stakeholders involved. ​

CSA Z663-18 ALIGNMENT
The Canadian Standards Association standard Z663-18 "Land Use Planning in the Vicinity of Pipeline Systems", provides guidance for municipalities, developers, and pipeline operators on the collective and specific responsibility and best practices for all stakeholders involved in development  in the vicinity of pipeline systems.
